WJ Entry #007

August 07, 2019

There are times when she realises that she's just not normal. This is one of those times.

Tears stream across her cheeks in rapid concession, her nose glows red from excessive tissue use and she has to continuously remove her glasses to wipe off the droplets that splash into them. What is she doing? She's sitting cross-legged in front of her computer screen, so deeply invested in one of the latest, heartiest anime shows that she doesn't realise how ridiculous the whole situation is. Bakugo, a boy she would adopt if he was real, has just undergone insane character development. He's admitted his flaws and that admittance shocks him to the core. It causes him to grit his teeth, clench his fists and try so so hard to keep the tears in. That moment, that's what makes her cry.

No one died, no one confessed their undying love for someone and no one achieved a happy ending. This broken, arrogant boy just came to an emotional, life-changing realisation and her empathy for fictitious characters runs deep enough for her to tear up.

She's not normal. She probably needs help.
